A leading company in the airline industry is seeking a Sales Manager to oversee and motivate the sales team. This role involves driving sales, implementing strategies, and nurturing relationships with stakeholders to achieve revenue targets. Manage the designated station sales team by implementing robust sales and marketing plans, ensuring customer-centric operational excellence, and achieving sales targets aligned with revenue goals and the Commercial Strategic Pillars (CSP).
Establish good relationships with all travel agencies, travel trade partners, and tourism boards to drive sales and ensure continuous support that aligns with business sales policies. Advise them on the Company's sales procedures and policies.
Explore growth opportunities, implement sales strategies and policies to achieve revenue targets within the budgeted overhead costs, and monitor performance data & KPIs related to sales and revenue, aiming to meet CSP targets.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve and drive high-yield revenue contributions from travel agencies and trade partners.
Gather feedback from the trade, analyze regional sales performance including competitor intelligence, and provide recommendations and solutions to management for a more robust sales drive.
Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to the station sales team, addressing shortcomings promptly to develop an effective and high-performing team.
Offer ad-hoc/administrative support to the Regional Manager of Sales (Malaysia & Brunei) and perform other support tasks as assigned.
Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Marketing with 7 years of experience in sales and commercial activities, or
Diploma in Business, Economics, Accounting, Marketing with 10 years of experience in sales and commercial activities.
Overall 7 – 10 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of the airline commercial business is preferred.
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are beneficial.
Good analytical thinking skills.
Leadership skills are important, but must also be a team player.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify growth opportunities and improvements.
Results-driven, focused on delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding expectations.
