About the Role

The role involves providing guidance and advisory on risks and controls in areas such as distribution, regulatory compliance, financial and operational processes, systems, and information security.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Ensuring all outsourced compliance screening processes adhere to SOPs and guidelines.
  2. Assisting in implementing an effective AML framework to ensure compliance with AML regulations and Group policies.
  3. Carrying out AML and Economic Sanctioned Screening to identify PEP, SDN, tax evasion cases, and adverse findings.
  4. Conducting screening activities to ensure regulatory and AIA compliance, minimizing reputational, legal, and financial risks.
  5. Supporting liaison with other teams to respond promptly to requests and queries.
  6. Overseeing operations in Malaysia, ensuring coordination and escalation of issues to management when necessary.
  7. Ensuring tasks are processed accurately, with prudent risk assessment, within agreed TAT and SLA.
  8. Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Team Management
  • Reviewing resources and processing times to ensure SLA delivery.
  • Monitoring team performance and providing guidance for improvement.
  • Managing daily team activities.
  • Training new members and conducting error review sessions.
  • Promoting team engagement and fostering good customer service attitudes.
Process Improvement
  • Monitoring performance data, identifying improvement areas, and implementing solutions.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, law, insurance, or related fields.
Skills
  • Over 5 years of experience in life insurance operations, especially in AML/CFT compliance.
  • At least 3 years managing a team.
  • Professional AML/CFT qualification is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with transaction monitoring/screening tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of process improvement techniques.
