Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer, Mechanical/Electrical Design
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional registration with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia) is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience within the property development or engineering consultancy sector.
- Hands‑on experience with large-scale development projects such as high‑rise residential, commercial buildings, mixed‑use developments, or township projects.
- Proficient in using design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM software or other relevant engineering software.
- Ability to assess and recommend value engineering solutions to optimize cost and building performance.
- Proactive, independent, and able to perform under pressure and tight deadline.
Responsibilities
- To prepare technical and tender drawings, specifications of mechanical / electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and client requirements.
- Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications.
- Managing and attending all project meetings related to feasibility studies / cost / design / construction work stage.
- Review and design on mechanical and electrical engineering for buildings and interaction with architecture, civil and structural.
- Prepare M&E estimates, tender bid, tender interview, cost analysis, tender report and recommendation.
- Attend design and coordination meeting, pre-tender estimation and tender process for award of M&E sub-contractors.
- Perform value engineering and cost saving that beneficial for the projects using BIM.
- Liaise with project client on design issues and coordination between consultants and contractors. Liaise with contractors for the approval of shop drawings, material submission, method statement and etc.
- Involve in checking testing and commissioning procedures performed by contractors upon handover.
- Train young engineers on BIM knowledge and BIM tools (Revit and Navisworks).
- Draft BIM guidelines, setup Revit templates and run virtual construction using BIM tools (Revit and Navisworks).
- Managing interferences between BIM models of different disciplines (architecture, structure, MEP, etc.).
- Coordinate with client, architect, C&S engineer and etc for issue related to M&E system and performance.
- Preparation of design plan to identify the timeline of design output.
- Liaise with M&E contract personnel for tender and contract issue.
- Conduct design work inclusive of design concept, design calculation, system selection, equipment sizing, system layout, operation and control strategic and etc.
- Check shop drawing and as-built drawing.
- Prepare design brief, concept schematics, cost estimate, complete tender specifications, schedules and BQ, drawings and documents for tender purposes.
- Liaise closely with The Client on their requirements.
- Periodically organize meetings with relevant contractors on coordination / site issues.
- Respond to contractor’s Request for Information (RFI).
- Review contractor claims on variation order.
- Assist senior engineers and designed electrical systems (Voltage drop calculation, design overall schematic system, sizing the capacitor bank & etc) for ongoing projects.
- Attend to the Client-Consultant-Meeting (CCM), Technical-Consultant-Meeting (TCM), Mesyuarat Pra-Pembinaan (OSC) and Site Meeting as the representative of the company.
- Liaise with relevant authorities on pre-consultations, submissions, inspections, etc. (i.e TNB, Telekom, Bomba, Air Selangor & SKMM).
- Dealing with tender report and tender report evaluation.
- Carry out any other duties as and when instructed by the Management from time to time.
