Assistant Manager, Regulatory Compliance

Job Description:

Summary
To ensure key control solutions to regulatory requirements are fully developed and implemented by BU/SU.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist the superior to ensure new regulations and requirements are localized and operationalized through appropriate policies, procedures, and documentation.
  2. Ensure assurance processes are aligned with industry standards and division expectations.
  3. Participate in all product, service, and channel reviews.
  4. Monitor RCSA and RAS.
  5. Provide advisory support to BU/SU on compliance issues related to policies and governance.
  6. Meet all deadlines set by superiors, including ad-hoc assignments and additional tasks.
  7. Must be able to multitask and work across a talent pool rather than within a narrow scope of work.
  8. Ensure adherence and compliance with all internal policies, guidelines, and external regulatory requirements.
  9. Review and update relevant compliance policies, manuals, and guidelines.
  10. Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by superiors, based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Accountancy, Economics, or Business.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Skills/Knowledge:
  • A strong understanding of legislation and regulatory requirements issued by Bank Negara Malaysia, Securities Commission, PIDM, etc.
  • Proven experience in assessing and advising on regulatory changes and their impact.
  • Understanding of systems and processes involved in new product development and distribution.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Capability to perform various functions at different levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to multitask, be highly numerate, detail-oriented, and work independently.
