Assistant Manager Quantity Surveyor

ABOUT THE JOB

• To advise the Project Team / Clients on the probable cost of construction schemes and on the costs of alternative designs.
• To prepare cost plans for projects which enable the design team to arrive at practical designs for projects and to stay within budget.
• To formulate and prepare strategic plan, specifications that translate to reliable, functional, safe, aesthetic, and comfortable habitation and give cost benefit to the Stakeholders in Telekom Malaysia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare cost analysis & estimate based on the architectural & civil drawings.
2. Prepare bills of quantities for quotations & tender document.
3. Prepare final account statement.
4. Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involves liaising with architects, engineers and subcontractors.
5. Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors.
6. Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure.
7. Monitor and keep track of project progress and are responsible for the measurement and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments and the final account.
8. Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered.
9. To advise project managers with regard to costing element of the project.

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional certification preferred (PQS, CQS, MRICS).

WE VALUE

• 5 years proven experience with large construction project cost control, preferably in data center or technology projects.
• Knowledge of material and labor costs for data centers or comparable projects.
• Construction project management and budget control.
