Job Description
Develop, assess, and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and streamline operations.
Lead and guide teams, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and meeting production objectives.
Prioritize safety by ensuring operations and workspaces adhere to safety standards, minimising risks.
Supervise, motivate, and support staff to achieve production, quality, and cost targets while fostering a positive work environment.
Identify team development areas and create targeted training programs to improve skills and performance.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assembly and production lines, ensuring consistent quality across all models.
Manage manpower planning to ensure staffing levels meet production line speed and operational requirements.
Monitor operational functions, ensuring efficient processes and balanced workflows across departments.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations in line with company policies and occupational health standards.
Identify high-potential employees for career development, evaluating their capabilities and growth potential.
Facilitate open communication and foster positive relationships between management and employees to strengthen organizational culture.
Take on additional responsibilities assigned by management, contributing to the department's growth and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA 1994) and Environmental Quality Act (EQA 1974), maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Manager (Assembly) should have:
5 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of SAP/ERP systems and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Excellent analytical skills.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
Capable of working under pressure and proactively meeting tight deadlines.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including effective management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
Driven, proactive and aggressive in accomplishing KPIs.
