JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager PM Planner – IS & Facility is responsible for developing, scheduling, and implementing preventive maintenance (PM) programs for industrial systems (IS) and facility equipment. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations, minimizes equipment downtime, and optimizes maintenance efficiency. Work closely with internal teams and external service providers to ensure the reliability and performance of critical systems.

  • Preventive Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and other food safety standards.
  • Utilize SAP or CMMS to track PM tasks, maintenance records, and work orders.
  • Monitor and update maintenance SOPs, job plans, and equipment history for audits and compliance.
  • Management of Service Contracts
  • Oversee and manage contracts with external maintenance vendors (e.g., lifts, dumbwaiters, boilers, fire protection systems, water treatment, ammonia refrigeration).
  • Ensure vendors comply with food safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
  • Schedule and coordinate contracted maintenance work to minimize disruption to production.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and recommend renewals, modifications, or terminations.
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) & Environmental Compliance
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance for WWTP equipment, including mixers, sludge tanks, pumps, aerators, and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and food industry wastewater discharge regulations.
  • Boiler & Thermal Oil Heater Maintenance
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance for boilers and thermal oil heaters to ensure uninterrupted steam and heat supply.
  • Conduct inspections, cleaning, and servicing to prevent contamination risks in food processing areas.
  • Ensure compliance with local safety and regulatory standards.
  • Ammonia Refrigeration System Maintenance
  • Develop and execute PM plans for the ammonia refrigeration system to ensure cooling efficiency and safety.
  • Schedule regular inspections, leak tests, and safety audits as per industry standards and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with qualified service providers for repairs and upgrades.
  • Fire Protection System Management
  • Planned and conducted routine checks for fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers).
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and fire safety regulations.
  • Air Scrubber & Ventilation Maintenance
  • Schedule maintenance for air scrubbers and ventilation systems to maintain air quality and hygiene.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental discharge regulations.
  • Lift & Dumbwaiter System Maintenance
  • Coordinate and monitor maintenance for lifts and dumbwaiters to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
  • Water System Maintenance
  • Plan PM activities for water supply, filtration, and distribution systems to ensure hygiene and food safety.
  • Monitor water treatment processes to prevent contamination risks.
  • Ensure compliance with food-grade water quality standards.
  • SOP Documentation & Compliance Management
  • Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for PM activities.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO, and local regulatory standards.
  • Train maintenance teams on SOP adherence and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation for audits.
  • Support internal and external audits related to maintenance, safety, and food hygiene.
  • Spare Parts & Inventory Management
  • Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts for equipment servicing.
  • Work with procurement teams to source food-grade spare parts and consumables.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
  • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, cost reduction, and system reliability improvements.
  • Work with engineers, technicians, and production teams to enhance performance and reduce downtime.

Qualification/ Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in preventive maintenance planning in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Management of service contracts and vendor performance.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintenance of wastewater treatment systems, boiler operations, ammonia refrigeration systems, fire protection, and water systems.
  • Proficiency in SAP, CMMS software, Microsoft Office, and maintenance scheduling tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
