Job description
  • Setting margins for pricing requests, ideally across all trades, taking a variety of elements into consideration (market levels, industry specifics, customer requirements and price sensitivities) while trading off against procurement levels and internal policies to maintain a profitable gross yield.
  • Maintain and strengthen carrier relationships on operational levels.
  • Support sea logistics procurement and carrier relation management.
  • Execute pricing strategies by liaising on pricing and RFQ preparation.
  • Actively exchange of information/ knowledge within the team and other stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management includes working with sales, agent, and commercial department to review and conduct sourcing strategy, ensure that categories and product deliver the strategy.
  • Provide timely responses to rate requests, finding mutual solutions for profit maximization.
  • Set selling prices within given bandwidths as per local conditions and pricing policy.
  • Direct the organisation to book shipments based on carrier agreements or lowest.
  • Ensure full transparency on current freight rate levels with Customer Service & Sales Team.
  • Support and exchange information with others to gain new, retain or further develop existing accounts.
  • Get involved and assist business owners for non-standard RFQ related requests.
  • Seek out customer feedback to drive improvements.
  • Ensure that databases are always up to date with most relevant pricing information.
  • Responsible for staff progress development.
  • To carry out any other duties as instructed by superior from time to time.
  • To perform any other duties as required by the Management from time to time.

Requirement:

  • Must possess at least a recognized Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Business Administration / Management / Marketing or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a team leader position in Freight Forwarding.
  • Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office including Cloud technologies such as Office 365.
  • Excellent team leader with good management skills. Able to work independently and in a group, result-oriented, and highly motivated.
  • Knowledge in data, operational and financial analysis.
  • Fast learner, pro-active, self-driven, and self-motivated.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Detailed, organized, and good time management.
