Assistant Manager – Motor Claims, Motorcycle OD & Extended Warranty
Assist in managing and approving the Motorcycle Own Damage (OD) and Extended Warranty claims, ensuring alignment with the Company’s internal policies, Claims Service Standards, and BNM’s Guidelines on Claims Settlement Practices.
Exercise sound judgment in claims assessment, support consistent decision-making, and contribute to maintaining service excellence and regulatory compliance
The key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Handle and approve claims within your authority limits; escalate those beyond your limit professionally, ensuring prompt and fair service as per company and BNM guidelines.
Check new claim entries and reserve adjustments to ensure they follow company practices, are accurate, and respond promptly to enquiries, complaints, or disputes.
Assign adjusters for investigations when needed and ensure timely processing and payment of claims.
Troubleshoot issues related to claim registration, processing, or payments by identifying and fixing the root causes.
Review outstanding claims regularly (at least once a year) to ensure reserves are sufficient, actions are taken, and claim files are settled promptly to keep outstanding numbers low.
Support the Manager or Unit Head in improving claims processes, supervising team members, and preparing required reports.
Inform HOD or superiors about incorrect policy coverage for correction and keep them updated on claims trends or potential concerns.
Participate in departmental projects when assigned.
Job Specification:
Degree in any related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Motor Claims processing for various motor claim types, and specific experience in handling Motorcycle OD & Extended Warranty cases is an added advantage.
Possesses good negotiation skills, analytical skills, communication skills and sound interaction with internal and external customers.
Must be able to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Self-motivated.
Well-organized.
