Category Executive Job Description
The Category Executive is responsible for sourcing, researching, planning, and developing assigned categories. They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers, operations, marketing, and logistics teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating with suppliers on product costs and promotion plans.
- Preparing various reports and analyzing SKU and category performance.
- Obtaining details of new SKUs from suppliers and registering them in the system.
- Raising purchase orders for new SKUs and monthly promotional purchases, ensuring timely delivery of stocks.
- Managing stock replenishment, promotional stock top-ups, and additional stock allocations, including checking quantities delivered to outlets.
- Participating in events such as new store openings, store visits, and donation programs as required.
- Issuing memos and cascading information to outlet levels.
- Collaborating with team members and superiors to complete duties on time.
- Assisting with ad hoc tasks assigned by superiors.
Requirements include:
- At least 3-4 years of retail experience.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high accuracy in numerical data.
- Effective teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Fast learner.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge of Chinese is an added advantage.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills are preferred.
- Positive mindset with a willingness to share ideas and communicate openly.
