Your Role

The Assistant Manager/ Manager, Nursing is responsible for organising and managing the nursing service in the ward to provide effective support for the nursing care rendered in the Centre. They must ensure staff meet customer needs and demands, guide staff to align with the Centre\'s vision, mission, and objectives, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical and Operational Management
    • Oversee the delivery of nursing care and ensure adherence to quality standards.
    • Monitor patient care plans, ensuring they are implemented and regularly reviewed.
    • Manage resources effectively to ensure optimal operation of the nursing unit.
    • Primary point of contact for all phone calls and walk-in cases during the first year of operation, ensuring that each inquiry is handled with professionalism and empathy.
    • Coordinate with callers to conduct initial screenings of patients, gathering essential information to assess their needs and determine the appropriate level of care.
    • Communicate the importance of personalised care plans to patients and their families, explaining how tailored care can enhance well-being and quality of life.
    • Facilitate the admission process to the Nursing Care Centre by providing clear and comprehensive information to patients and their families, ensuring a smooth transition into the care facility.
  • Licensing & Compliance (CKAPs)
    • Assist with pre-opening activities to ensure all CKAPs license requirements are met.
    • Support in preparing documentation, audits, and compliance reports for regulatory bodies.
  • Policy & SOP Development
    • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
    • Ensure patient safety and promote a safe healthcare environment.
    • Ensure policies are up-to-date and comply with relevant healthcare standards and best practices.
  • Training & Staff Development
    • Supervise and manage nursing staff and personal care assistants to ensure high-quality patient care.
    • Focus on staff development and professional growth by providing training and mentorship.
    • Conduct in-service training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing and allied healthcare staff.
  • Procurement Support
    • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Diploma or Degree in Nursing / Post Basic in related field
  • Licensing
    • Registered Nurse with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a clinical/hospital/nursing home/wards/care centre or similar setting
    • Experienced senior staff nurses are encouraged to apply
    • Familiarity with CKAPs licensing requirements and compliance processes
  • Skills
    • Professional nursing theory and practice

    • Management experience in ward settings or relevant communication certifications preferred

    • Basic understanding of data entry of Hospital Information System (HIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
