Assistant Manager/Manager – Learning & Professional Development (Soft Skills)

Overview

The Learning and Professional Development (LAPD) team is dedicated to fostering employee growth by enhancing soft skills, communication, and interpersonal capabilities, ultimately driving improved business performance and a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with the Director to design and implement learning strategies, focusing on professional development and soft skills training programs.
  2. Facilitate and manage end-to-end internal and external leadership & business skills training.
  3. Conduct vendor assessments to source high-quality learning resources aligned with the Firm’s needs.
  4. Facilitate soft skills training sessions for BDO ASEAN colleagues.
  5. Prepare and execute standard and ad-hoc reports for management review.
  6. Support administrative tasks related to training activities as needed.

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

  • A recognized degree in Accounting or any Business-related discipline, or completed professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or MICPA.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in the training profession, preferably within the finance and accounting sector.
  • Experience in facilitating comprehensive training programs is highly desirable.
  • Current or former auditors with training experience and an interest in transitioning to learning and professional development roles are encouraged to apply.

  • Excellent organization and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Proactive, independent work ethic.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Zoom.
  • Familiarity with interactive learning tools (e.g., Kahoot, Mentimeter).
