Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Desaru Coast is seeking an Assistant Manager, Lumare to lead Lumare operations, ensuring guest experiences meet the brand's luxury standards. You will supervise service, coordinate with kitchen/bar, and drive daily operational excellence.

The role requires strong leadership, English communication, and hands-on hospitality with 2–4 years in F&B or luxury venues; familiarity with POS and reservations systems is preferred, with a focus on impeccable service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Ensure every guest receives a warm welcome and personalized service throughout their visit.
• Act as the main point of contact for VIP guests, resolving complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
• Monitor service quality and ambiance to match the beach club's premium lifestyle positioning.
• Oversee the floor, beach area and poolside service to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Supervise setup and breakdown of service stations and event spaces.
• Support the Restaurant Manager, Lumare in shift planning, opening/closing procedures, and stock management.
• Train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver consistent 5-star service.
• Support performance reviews and assist in developing team members' product knowledge and guest interaction skills.
• Ensure grooming, appearance, and behaviour of team members meet brand standards.
• Coordinate with Sales and Events teams on private functions, parties, and special guest arrangements.
• Assist in managing logistics for live DJs, performances, beach parties, and food & beverage promotions.
• Ensure all safety and hygiene protocols are followed in accordance with local regulations and brand standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
• Assist with daily sales reports, cost control, and operational budgets.
• Monitor stock levels of beverages, linens, and other supplies, coordinate with procurement or storeroom.
• Prevent wastage and support profit-maximization strategies.

About The Job

The Assistant Manager, Lumare is responsible to supports the overall operations of the Lumare, ensuring an exceptional guest experience through smooth service coordination, team supervision, and daily operational excellence.
