Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager Logistics for the Northern & Southern Regions is responsible for overseeing and managing the logistics operations within these areas. This role involves coordinating transportation, inventory management, and distribution activities, ensuring that the logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will be required to travel frequently to these regions, providing on-the-ground support to partners and ensuring adherence to operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Increase coverage for Northern and Southern region.
  2. Oversee daily logistics operations in the Northern and Southern regions, ensuring efficient transportation and timely delivery of goods.
  3. Manage inventory control, track shipments, and maintain stock levels to meet operational needs.
  4. Ensure warehouse operations are optimal and meet company standards.
  5. Supervise logistics partners in the Northern and Southern regions, providing training, support, and leadership.
  6. Work closely with internal departments (Procurement, Sales, Operations) to align logistics activities with overall company goals.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers, vendors, and contractors.
  8. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring quality service and cost-effective solutions.

Cost Management & Budgeting:

  1. Monitor and control logistics expenses, working to optimize costs while maintaining high operational standards.
  2. Assist in preparing logistics budgets and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

Compliance & Safety:

  1. Ensure logistics operations comply with local regulations and company safety standards.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits to maintain an accident-free environment.

Reporting & Performance Tracking:

  1. Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, KPIs, and operational efficiency.
  2. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance logistics performance.

Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution:

  1. Address and resolve any logistics-related issues, such as shipment delays or damaged goods, in a timely manner.
  2. Act as the point of contact for resolving logistical challenges.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity. Experience managing logistics across multiple regions or territories is highly preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  1. Strong organizational, leadership, and multitasking skills.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  5. Ability to work independently and manage remote teams.

Travel:

Willingness to travel frequently to the Northern and Southern regions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in managing large-scale logistics operations.
  2. Familiarity with the furniture or retail industry is a plus.
