We are seeking passionate and driven individuals to join Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia as an Assistant Manager in the Legal & Late Stage Collections team. This role offers opportunities for professional growth within a leading captive financial services provider.

The key responsibilities include:

• Leading external collections and remarketing efforts with a focus on legal oversight, evaluating cases for litigation or repossession based on risk, cost, and recovery potential.
• Managing legal, late-stage collections processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitoring collection activities, verifying contact information, and training collectors to meet KPIs.
• Liaising with customers to minimize credit losses and maximize recoveries.
• Handling escalations, restructuring, and rescheduling of overdue contracts, including weekend availability.
• Initiating litigation, assessing accounts for repossession or litigation, and coordinating with solicitors and relevant authorities.
• Managing the remarketing process for repossessed vehicles, ensuring timely sale at optimal prices.
• Monitoring commission programs and executing write-off contracts.
• Driving digitization, process automation, and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Banking, Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Law, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in automotive finance.
• Legal Practice Certification required; debt collection certification preferred.
• Strong legal and late-stage collections experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office; good communication skills in English; conversational in Cantonese/Mandarin and local dialects.
• Knowledge of Finance Contract Management ERP and hire purchase terms.
