Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Assistant Manager, IT Business Analyst (Malaysia).

The Assistant Manager, IT Business Analyst will manage the business data centre and analytics functions, providing the business with accurate data insights and user-friendly dashboards to support informed decision-making and drive operational improvements. This person plays a pivotal role in bridging the IT capabilities with business objectives in enabling data-driven strategies that support the company’s growth and success.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities?

  • Data Centre Operations: Manage and oversee business data centre operations, ensuring high availability and performance of IT systems and data infrastructure.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with business units to understand their data needs and translate them into effective analytics solutions.
  • BI Solutions: Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using BI tools.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse complex business data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Lead initiatives to improve data quality, governance, and compliance with relevant policies and standards.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between IT and business teams to ensure data-driven decision-making aligns with company objectives.
  • Emerging Technologies: Stay updated with emerging data technologies and best practices to recommend and implement improvements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Ability to work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical specifications

What are the Qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data management, business intelligence, or analytics roles.
  • Strong proficiency with Power BI and data visualization tools.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and database management.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Data Modelling: Ability to design and develop data models that effectively support business requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in analysing datasets to uncover trends and insights.
  • Visualization: Expertise in creating interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • DAX Functions: Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating custom calculations in Power BI.
  • Power Query: Experience in extracting, transforming, and loading data using Power Query.
