Job summary

A leading automotive parts company in Penang is seeking an Assistant Manager for Inventory Management. This role involves leading the Inventory Management function and ensuring compliance with standards while managing daily operations of raw materials and finished goods. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Business Administration or equivalent, at least 5 years of experience in Inventory Management, and expertise in SAP and Inventory Management tools. This position focuses on improving efficiency and maintaining high inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in Inventory Management or Supply Chain, preferably in the Automotive Industry.
  • Good knowledge of SAP System & Inventory Management.
  • Experience with Kaizen & QC Tools.

Job Purpose

Lead, monitor and responsible for Inventory Management as per assigned

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager in ensuring and maintaining compliance with IATF standards in accordance with requirements.
  • Support the Manager in managing daily operations of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Assist in supervising warehouse and logistics team members.
  • Enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) principles in storage and material replenishment to minimize aging, deterioration, and wastage.
  • Conduct physical stock checks and ensure stock cards are properly implemented and updated at all times.
  • Perform inventory control for incoming and outgoing goods, including cycle counts and 5S housekeeping activities.
  • Manage stock movements and ensure inventory is accurately maintained both physically and within the system.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy with proper documentation and record-keeping.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.
  • Assist the Manager in establishing policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material service activities.
  • Monitor customer Sales Orders (SO) and Delivery Instructions (DI) to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Participate in new model packing standard proposals and transportation cost studies.
  • Monitor, guide, and coach warehouse employees to improve work performance and efficiency.
  • Carry out any other duties, assignments, or projects as assigned by superiors from time to time.
Requirements
