This role ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations, advocates for the company’s interests, and helps to navigate the regulatory environment to support business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong relationships and act as the primary point of contact with government officials, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and key stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and analyse changes in regulations, laws, and policies that may impact the company’s operations. Ensure the company complies with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements in Malaysia.

Advocacy and Lobbying: Represent the company’s interests in discussions with government bodies and key stakeholders. Develop and implement lobbying strategies, prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and presentations to communicate the company’s position on key issues.

Policy Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on public policy issues that may affect the business. Provide strategic advice to senior management on the potential impact of legislative and regulatory changes.

Crisis Management: Manage government relations during crises, ensuring effective communication and mitigating risks to the company’s reputation.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on government relations strategies. Coordinate with industry associations and other companies to advocate for common interests.

skills & experience required:

Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Law, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in government relations. Retirees from the ministry/government agencies with strong communication skills are strongly encouraged to apply.

Strong knowledge of Malaysia’s regulatory environment and political landscape.

Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to understand and interpret complex regulations and policies.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Strategic thinking and the ability to influence decision-making processes.

High level of integrity and ethical standards.
