About the Job

Job Purpose

The key focus will be to prepare and provide accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

The Job

  1. Prepare and analyze management accounts and detailed balance sheet schedules according to reporting deadlines.
  2. Assist in tracking distribution and management expenses for business planning, budgeting, and forecasting throughout the year.
  3. Participate in projects or enhancements requiring Finance’s involvement and feedback.
  4. Assist in preparing Annual Audited Financial Statements, including publication requirements (e.g., Investment-linked Funds Performance Report).
  5. Prepare OCBC/GEH forms, quarterly reconciliation reports, and other Group ad hoc reporting.
  6. Prepare and review BNM reports, such as Takaful Operators’ Statistical reports, annual Operating Cost Control, Bancatakaful statistical reports, ISM, and other regulatory reports.
  7. Prepare and review reconciliations and analyses for daily investment transactions and IL NAV/price.
  8. Assist in reviewing engagement letters and preparing papers for external auditor appointments.
  9. Liaise with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders, providing accurate information and records as needed.
  10. Participate fully in monthly and year-end closing processes to meet deadlines.
  11. Assist in system enhancements for reporting under MFRS 17 and develop reports and financial statements using TM1, Excel, or other systems for MFRS 17 and relevant standards.
  12. Assist in explaining IFRS numbers and reconciling MFRS 17 and MFRS 4 figures.

Our Requirements

  1. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or relevant discipline.
  2. 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the family takaful or life insurance industry.
  3. Knowledge of Islamic Financial Services Act, 2013, and Shariah principles.
  4. Good understanding of MFRS reporting standards and BNM policy documents.
  5. Result-oriented, proactive, flexible, and open to new opportunities for transformation.
  6. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  8. Willingness to work on weekends/public holidays as needed for closing and reporting.
  9. High integrity, accountability, positive attitude, and teamwork.
  10. Proactive in improving processes and adaptable to change.
