The Assistant Manager, Finance will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance processes within the agricultural and natural resources sector. This role is based in Bintulu and requires strong analytical skills and expertise in accounting and finance principles.

Description

  • Oversee and manage the Finance Department, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with procedures.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, cash flow projections, annual budgets, and statutory accounts.
  • Monitor and manage working capital, including debtors, inventories, and cost accounting analysis.
  • Support business units in value creation, cost reduction, and pricing policy formulation.
  • Design, implement, and review accounting systems, internal controls, and corporate governance processes.
  • Liaise with banks on facilities, foreign exchange, money markets, and manage cash flow and funding requirements.
  • Lead and supervise accounting staff development and training.
  • Collaborate with marketing on debt collection and credit compliance.
  • Manage procurement activities including vendor approvals, tender processes, and PO review to ensure transparency and policy compliance.
  • Handle tax computations, insurance renewals, audit queries, and assist with applications for tax incentives.

Profile

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with professional certifications being an advantage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in the manufacturing, agricultural and natural resources sector is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
