Assistant Manager, Events and Promotions (Agency Distribution)
As the Assistant Manager at Events & Promotions, you will play a key role in developing and executing the strategic vision for events planning and promotional activities within the division. You will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination and execution of company’s major events.
Event Management & Activation
- Lead and manage end to end company’s major events including pre-event preparation, planning, organizing, promoting and post-event evaluation.
- Assist and work closely with HOD in all phases of event management as and when required.
- Strategise, plan and execute promotional initiatives and action plans to promote events to agency force as well as aim to create a wonderful experience for our agency force.
- Assist other team members/ national agency sales team on company’s tactical events and to ensure the tasks assigned are executed successfully and smoothly.
- Liaise and coordinate with various departments, event management company, emcee, hotel and vendor on event execution to ensure events/projects are executed successfully and smoothly within the budget and timeline.
- Brainstorm, research, conduct market survey and propose new ideas to bring all corporate events to a higher level.
Post-Event Evaluation Survey
- Conduct post event evaluation survey from participants for company’s major event not later than 1 day after event end.
- Provide post evaluation survey report to HOD, not later than 30 days after event end.
Campaign & Promotions Planning
- Manage/assist other special projects such as CNY MV, contest promotion video etc. as and when required by HOD and to ensure the tasks assigned are executed successfully within budget and timeline.
- Assist in proofreading materials such as awards & recognition booklet, newspaper advertisement and other promotional materials.
Administrative/Operational Support
- Support the department in ordering, packing, delivery, logistic and coordination of matters relating to events and promotions such as contest reward items, trophies etc.
- Support agents who walk-in/call/email for assistance/enquiries on system supported by E&P.
- Ensure all procuring activities conducted are adhered to GELM Procurement Operating Guidelines and all documents relating to procurement process are retained for review or audit purposes.
We are looking for people who
- Bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, hospitality management, or a related field and possess strong communication and planning skills.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in events planning, administrative/supporting roles, preferably in financial/insurance industry.
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet dynamic demands.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering exceptional event experiences to our agency force.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends or public holidays as required by event schedules. Able to travel outstation (within Malaysia).
