Overview

AEON Malaysia is a leading retail company offering a wide variety of products and services, with a focus on customer satisfaction and a friendly shopping environment.

Responsibilities
  • Mall, Retail, and Private Brand Design Development (70%) – Apply strong analytical thinking to develop and present creative design proposals. Participate from the initial feasibility study and design planning stages through to detailed drawings. Ensure all design concepts adhere to functionality, aesthetics, and commercial objectives.
  • Design Management (20%) – Manage and oversee all design-related processes to ensure timely and accurate execution. Collaborate closely with internal and external teams including consultants, merchandising, operations, and project management to align design output with strategic goals and operational requirements. Review and approve design drawings and documentation to maintain consistency and quality standards.
  • People Management (10%) – Coach and guide junior designers in design principles, project planning, and technical execution. Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that supports professional growth and teamwork.
Skill & Qualifications

Education and Experience – Possess at least a Bachelor / Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent. Minimum 6 years of relevant working experience. Experience in managing end-to-end design projects from concept to execution is essential.

Technical Skills – Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of construction drawings, detailing, and technical specifications. Ability to interpret brand guidelines into spatial and visual design concepts.

Soft Skills – Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an eye for aesthetics, quality and functionality. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and visual. Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Team-oriented and collaborative personality.
