Job description

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager - Credit Control to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll take charge of managing receivables, ensuring timely collections, reducing credit risks, and maintaining a healthy cash flow. You’ll also work closely with customers, internal teams, and lead a small team to drive efficient and effective credit control processes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend suitable credit terms
  • Set up and maintain credit accounts in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments regularly
  • Resolve payment issues and disputes through effective communication
  • Work with the legal team on seriously overdue or high-risk accounts
  • Prepare and present credit reports to management with key updates
  • Lead, guide, and support the Credit Control team to meet collection targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while enforcing credit policies
  • Recommend and implement improvements to credit control processes and procedures

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Min 3–5 years’ experience in credit control or collections
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP system knowledge is a plus
  • Able to travel as needed to meet customers
  • Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia;
  • Ability to converse in Chinese is an added advantage
