The Assistant Manager, Corporate Development is responsible for assisting with the coordination of Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad’s communications efforts externally and internally.The role requires strong analytical and communication capabilities to translate financial and operational data into impactful narratives for investors, analysts, media, and other stakeholders. The Assistant Manager will also support Group-level CSR planning, execution, and reporting. Besides that, the Corporate Development team supports the group’s funding and capital activities, corporate planning and strategy execution.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Investor Relations
- Develop a new investor presentation in line with other oil and gas companies’ collaterals and to revisit on an annual basis for a refreshed look and feel.
- Coordinate and edit marketing and communication collaterals both on and offline, including but not limited to investor presentations, corporate business updates, corporate videos, webcasts, press releases, newsletters, etc.
- Interpret financial data and key performance indicators to craft messaging for investor communications.
- Work on a progressive investor relations and public relations platform and international reach.
- Manage timely responses to investor/shareholder FAQs and queries.
- Support the Group’s Leadership Team with timely investor-related content and data.
- Corporate Communications/Media Relations
- Develop & update general and program brochures, media kits/ releases, key messages, fact sheets, & other collateral material as needed.
- Coordinate and manage updates & improvements on the corporate website.
- Develop/customise presentation packs as required by management.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for the company’s Annual General Meeting and Annual Report.
- Monitor and summarise media coverage; escalate relevant news to Management.
- Coordinate internal and external corporate events, press briefings, and presentations.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of CSR programmes aligned with Group ESG goals.
- Assist in the development and review of Group CSR Guidelines.
- Prepare the annual CSR budget proposal, including projected programmes and estimated costs.
- Track progress, implementation, and completion of approved CSR initiatives.
- Drive internal awareness and employee engagement around CSR activities.
- Ensure all CSR initiatives comply with the Group’s Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy.
- Assist in gathering CSR and ESG data for internal and external reporting.
- Others
- Assist with the branding activities of the Group in accordance with the Corporate Branding Policy and changes to the Policy, if any.
- Assist on the department budgeting process and assist with the procurement activities of the Department as required for services and products, ensuring adherence to the Corporate Procurement Policy and the Department’s budget.
- Support the Head of Department in strategic group initiatives, including funding, capital raising, and corporate planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualification:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, engineering, marketing, public relations, communications or other energy-related field.
- Professional qualifications, such as ACCA, ICAEW, CFA, are an advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in investor relations, corporate planning, financial analysis, equity research, fund management or corporate communications.
- Prior exposure to public-listed companies, energy sector, or capital markets is strongly preferred.
- Candidates with backgrounds in equity research, fund management, financial communications, or corporate strategy are encouraged to apply.
- Skills and Knowledge
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; proficiency in Malay is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of electronic media such as websites, e-newsletters, social media, etc is an advantage.
