Direct Custody and Clearing (DCC) Corporate Actions is an asset servicing function mainly providing services to institutional clients and retail clients in a domestic market. As a direct custodian, the team is responsible for the efficient and timely broadcast of corporate events to clients, processing instructions, computing entitlements, and processing corporate event payments. Common corporate events processed include, but are not limited to, cash dividends, bonus shares, rights issues, proxy meetings, takeovers, mergers, interest, redemptions, and conversions.

The Opportunity:

An opportunity to learn and understand the various types of corporate events and their lifecycle.

The job holder is responsible for the day-to-day processing of corporate events in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.

What you’ll do:

  1. Act as the input agent for operations and ensure all allocated corporate events are processed within required timeframes; all instructions are processed as per deadlines and operational manuals. Deviations must be reported immediately to the Manager, with full adherence to team control functions and end-of-day checklists.
  2. Ensure prompt escalation (as per escalation matrix) to the Manager for matters that could present potential financial loss or client service issues.
  3. Demonstrate critical and analytical skills, including analyzing information and generating ideas/solutions for decision-making based on available references.
  4. Support team members on operational activities to ensure all aspects of team activities are satisfactorily covered.
  5. Drive and manage change effectively to achieve business goals, such as process improvements or procedural changes.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  1. Acquire a broad understanding of all Corporate Action processes and market specifications for assigned markets.
  2. Possess relevant securities background with at least 12 months of securities experience.
  3. Have good interpersonal skills and networking abilities to build relationships at all levels.
  4. Experience in securities processing environment; knowledge in Corporate Actions, Trade Settlement, Cash Payments/FXs in Global Custody or Direct Custody is an advantage.
