Job description

Responsibilities

  1. Support the Compliance Manager in preparing documentation related to compliance and the reporting pack for the Compliance Committee and Executives.
  2. Assist the Compliance Manager in identifying and mitigating regulatory risks, including the identification and implications of emerging regulatory issues.
  3. Develop, document, and maintain compliance procedures.
  4. Support the Compliance Manager in the policy development and review process.
  5. Regularly review processes and procedures with relevant senior management to ensure compliance with current BNM requirements, suggesting alternatives where appropriate.
  6. Maintain a database of press articles, letters, and briefings regarding compliance, promote management awareness, and coordinate responses to proposed regulatory changes.
  7. Assist in the circular dissemination of regulatory information to relevant stakeholders.
  8. Support reporting related to Anti-Money Laundering matters as required.

Requirements

  1. Degree in Laws, Accounting, Finance, Governance, or Professional Qualifications.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance-related role.
  3. Experience in sanctions screening, watchlist maintenance, and monitoring.
  4. Knowledge of the general insurance industry is an advantage.
  5. Proficient in MS Office applications.
  6. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including business presentations and interpersonal communication.
  7. Resourceful, meticulous, and capable of multitasking across responsibilities.
  8. Strong business acumen and organizational awareness to be an effective business partner to various units.
