A leading company in the precision engineering sector seeks a CNC Supervisor to lead skilled teams in CNC machining operations. The role involves managing productivity and quality standards, implementing training programmes, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. Ideal candidates have solid CNC machining experience and leadership skills, crucial for optimizing production efficiency.
Lead, motivate, and manage CNC Operators, Machinists and Programmer to meet daily production targets and quality standards.
Assign tasks and monitor team performance to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Conduct regular team meetings and briefings to communicate goals, updates, and expectations.
Training & Development
Plan and implement training programs to enhance the technical skills, safety awareness, and productivity of CNC personnel.
Provide on-the-job coaching and guidance to improve machine handling, programming, and troubleshooting abilities.
Evaluate skill gaps and recommend upskilling initiatives for staff career growth and operational excellence.
Operational Oversight
Monitor manpower allocation and ensure optimal utilization of machines and resources to meet production schedules.
Review production processes and workflows, identifying areas for efficiency improvement and waste reduction.
Coordinate with planning, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth workflow and issue resolution.
Quality & Process Control
Oversee inspections of machined products to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
Implement corrective actions and process improvements to reduce machine rejects and production errors.
Ensure tools, fixtures, and inserts are adequately maintained and available for production needs.
Technical Support & Maintenance
Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and provide support in G-code/M-code editing for CNC programs.
Support maintenance scheduling and monitor machine performance to reduce unplanned downtime.
Recommend new technologies, tools, or methods to enhance production capabilities and precision.
Reporting & Compliance
Review and update production documentation, work instructions, and ISO records as required.
Monitor and control departmental operating costs while maintaining high output quality and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety, 5S practices, and company policies.
Other Responsibilities
Collaborate in cross-departmental improvement projects or audits.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC machining, including 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Strong knowledge of CNC Auto Lathe (especially Swiss-type machines is a plus).
Proficient in G-code and M-code editing and NC programming interpretation.
Familiarity with cutting tools, tool layout design, and CNC process planning.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Able to train and mentor junior staff effectively.
Knowledge of ISO standards, safety regulations, and lean manufacturing principles is an added advantage.
