A consultancy firm in Malaysia seeks an Assistant Manager of Audit to lead the accounting team while enhancing client relationships and ensuring accurate financial operations. The role involves strategic planning, performance monitoring, and effective client liaison, combined with opportunities for professional development in a supportive work environment.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager of Audit to oversee and support our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, monitoring team performance, task assignment, client liaison, billing, and credit collection to ensure accurate financial operations and enhanced client relationships. We are a consultancy firm based in Malaysia, and you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients from all over Malaysia and different parts of the world, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the growth and success of our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans for the accounting team to achieve departmental goals.
Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing guidance, coaching, and support for continuous improvement.
Assign tasks effectively to team members, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
Act as the primary point of contact (PIC) for liaising with clients regarding accounting & audit matters, billing inquiries, and accounting & audit issues.
Oversee billing processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
Manage credit collection activities, including follow-ups on overdue accounts and coordinating with clients to resolve payment issues.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Prepare and review financial statements, audit working papers and reports as required.
Assist in the development and improvement of internal controls and procedures.
Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience in accounting, with some supervisory or team leadership exposure.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, billing procedures, and credit management.
Experience in handling external clients
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
Proactive with strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
Proficiency in Chinese language is required (both verbal and written).
Preferred Attributes:
Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is a plus.
Experience in client liaison and credit control.
Leadership qualities and the ability to work well under pressure.
