Job Description
- Manage and oversee all legal matters of the group, providing comprehensive support across corporate, legal, secretarial, and operational functions.
- Oversee legal and compliance services to ensure alignment with the commercial objectives established by management.
- Handle and resolve legal disputes internally, including employer-employee matters, as well as externally with third parties such as contractors, suppliers, and purchasers.
- Oversee litigation matters and coordinate closely with external legal counsel.
- Support the monitoring of the company's compliance with statutory requirements, by-laws, regulatory obligations, authorities' directives, and Bursa Malaysia listing rules.
- Take the lead in major sale and purchase transactions, corporate restructuring, due diligence exercises, acquisitions, and the management of security documentation.
- Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on matters related to potential business ventures and the company’s daily operations.
- Attend tribunals and hearings concerning industrial relations and labor disputes as needed.
- Liaise and coordinate with external law firms on civil suits and related legal disputes.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior from time to time.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Law (LL.B).
- Experience in property conveyancing, litigation, general corporate affairs, industrial relations, and construction.
- Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (to communicate with parties from China)
- A minimum of 5-6 years of relevant work experience is required for this position.
- The position of Legal Manager may be considered based on the candidate's experience.
