We are looking for a proactive and experienced Assistant HR Manager to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will play a generalist role in managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle, leading recruitment, handling work pass applications, and overseeing various HR functions. Reporting directly to the HR Director based in Singapore, this position requires a candidate with at least 5 years of HR experience, strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and offboarding.
  2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Manage job postings, resume screening, interviews, and extending job offers. This includes negotiating salary, benefits, and employment terms.
  3. Employment Documentation: Draft and issue employment contracts, offer letters, and other HR-related documentation in accordance with company policies and Malaysian labor laws.
  4. Work Pass Management: Administer the application, renewal, and compliance processes for work passes for foreign employees.
  5. Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, offering guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  6. Compliance & Legal Adherence: Ensure the organization’s HR practices comply with local labor laws and statutory requirements, keeping up-to-date with changes in employment regulations.
  7. HR Administrative Support: Maintain accurate employee records, update HR databases, and assist with various administrative tasks related to HR functions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with a strong understanding of Malaysian labor laws.
  • Proven track record in managing end-to-end HR processes, including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with the engineering sector is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin to liaise effectively with counterparts in China.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
