Job summary

Layang Layang Flying Academy in Ipoh, Malaysia invites applications for an Assistant Ground Instructor to support ground school instruction and theoretical training for student pilots. You will help deliver theory lessons, prepare materials and monitor progress to uphold CAAM standards.

The role requires the ability to work independently, with a CAAM CPL and a commitment to safe, compliant training programs. This is a hands-on teaching position within our aviation training team.

Qualifications

• CAAM CPL holder (Commercial Pilot Licence) required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with CAAM training standards and approval procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver aviation theory lessons to student pilots.
• Prepare lesson plans, presentations and instructional materials aligned with the approved syllabus.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain attendance, assessment records and training documentation.
• Ensure training activities comply with CAAM requirements and academy procedures.
• Participate in instructor meetings and training reviews.
• Perform other duties related to ground school and flight training as assigned by the Chief Ground Instructor.

Layang Layang Flying Academy is seeking a qualified and motivated Assistant Ground Instructor to support ground school instruction and theoretical knowledge training for student pilots . The successful candidate will assist in delivering aviation training, monitoring student progress and maintaining training standards in accordance with the Academy's approved training programmes and applicable CAAM requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver aviation theoretical knowledge lessons to student pilots.
• Prepare lesson plans, presentations and instructional materials in accordance with the approved training syllabus.
• Support student assessments, monitor learning progress and provide feedback.
• Maintain student attendance, assessment results and training records.
• Ensure training activities comply with the Academy's approved procedures and applicable CAAM requirements.
• Participate in instructor meetings, training reviews and standardisation activities.
• Perform other duties related to ground school and flight training as assigned by the Chief Ground Instructor.

About you

• Holds a CAAM Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
