Assistant Finance Manager (4 months contract)

Position Summary: The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in managing the financial activities of the organization. This role involves assisting in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. Developing strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is essential in this role.

Position Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

· Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

· Responsible for the review of periodic finance close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

· Preparation of reconciliations to support financial data.

· Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities, proposing appropriate actions or solutions.

· Support the preparation of management reports and other ad hoc reporting requirements.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

· Assist in developing and managing the annual budget process.

· Assist in preparing periodic financial forecasts and updating them in a timely manner.

· Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management.

3. Financial Operations:

· Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

· Review and manage the general ledger to maintain accuracy and completeness of financial data.

· Validate all financial data, ensuring proper reconciliation and supporting documentation.

· Assist in reviewing full set of accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

· Monitor cash flow and maintain sufficient liquidity for operational needs, identifying any potential challenges.

· Assist in implementing and maintaining robust internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations.

· Ensure financial KPIs are met and promptly address any outstanding issues related to the financial statements, data and reports.

· Ensure clarification when in doubt, taking a proactive approach in fulfilling responsibilities.

4. Client Reporting:

· Ensure timely completion of deliverables and reports to clients.

· Review deliverables, both self-prepared and from the reporting line, to ensure accuracy before sharing with the client, promptly addressing any discrepancies.

· Address client queries promptly or escalate when further guidance is needed.

5. Compliance and Auditing:

· Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

· Support internal and external audit processes.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

6. Process Improvement:

· Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.

· Assist in the implementation of new financial tools and software.

· Promote best practices in financial management across the organization.

· Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support.

· Assist in training and mentoring junior finance staff.

· Participate in cross-functional projects as required.

Any other ad hoc responsibilities as assigned or as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role.

· Strategic Thinking: Contribute to recommending financial strategies or solutions aligned with organizational goals, leveraging analytical skills to identify improvement opportunities.

· Innovation: Encourage and implement new ideas to improve financial processes and systems.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualified accounting professional

Min 4-8 years relevant working experience

Audit experience will be preferred
