A leading company in civil engineering and construction is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to manage financial records, oversee accounts payable/receivable, and assist in financial reporting. This role requires a degree in Accounting or Finance, at least 7 years of experience, and strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all transactions are recorded in compliance with accounting standards.
Oversee accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely payments.
Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collection of payments, and reconciliation of accounts.
Monitor outstanding invoices and coordinate follow-ups to ensure timely payment from clients.
Assist to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations.
Maintain documentation to support compliance activities and facilitate external audits.
Assist in the development of financial strategies and long-term plans that align with company goals.
Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
Assist in managing banking relationships and optimizing treasury operations.
Support the capital budgeting process by evaluating investment proposals and preparing financial models.
Identify financial risks associated with accounting practices and operations, recommending mitigation strategies.
Assist in financial assessments for corporate development initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
Provide financial due diligence support and analysis as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
