Job description

Your new company

This multinational company is well known for their engineering services in the construction, energy, marine, mining, forest and oil & gas sectors.

Your new role

  • Engage with all levels of management within the group for monthly financial reporting and annual budget exercises. This includes working closely with the Finance team, from CFOs to mid-level managers.

  • Handle reporting and respond to enquiries from the Group Accounts and Group Strategy teams regarding the group's financial results.

  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer with: Preparing Monthly Divisional Reports (MDR) for senior management meetings. Drafting quarterly financial schedules for group reporting and announcements.

  • Provide concise commentary on financial and operational performance.

  • Monitor the performance of the Overseas Operating Unit, including provincial results, order backlog, and market trends.

  • Oversee the budget process by consolidating inputs from Operating Units, reviewing and analysing MPLANs, and preparing consolidated financial statements and strategy blueprints for group approval.

  • Conduct monthly business performance analysis, including rental return on assets, cash reporting, parts work in progress, tax reconciliations, and order book analysis. Follow up with Operating Units to understand performance variances.

  • Analyse key drivers of return on average invested capital and return on equity.

  • Assist in improving return on invested capital by tracking initiatives and actions from Operating Units.

  • Manage finance-related aspects of systems migration projects (e.g., D365).

  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required by the immediate superior or management due to business expansion, alignment, or other needs.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you must be:

  • Must be a qualified accountant with professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent), along with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 7–9 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Previous experience in the auditing field
