A leading data and AI company is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to oversee financial functions across various entities in Malaysia. This role involves supervising financial information preparation, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, and conducting financial reporting. Ideal candidates will have a Degree in Finance or Accounting, strong experience in full accounts management, and proficiency in local tax matters.

What will you do?
Overseeing for financial functions across overall Malaysia entities - ADA HQ and ADA MY
Direct supervision of monthly financial information preparation by 2 Senior executives and 1 Finance assistant for the day-to-day finance operations.
Regular financial reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, encompassing the comprehensive evaluation of overall business financial performance, as well as monthly Day 3 & Day 8 Group reporting.
Lead and provide direction for various sub-departments, act as a focal point for issues and attend to any ad-hoc operational challenges that are faced by the relevant departments across ADA HQ and ADA MY.
Reviewing in local tax submission & reporting, e.g: VAT, WHT & Corporate tax computation.
Ensure adequate internal controls are in place for all areas of operations.
Assisting in audit, preparing audit schedules, answering queries, etc
Ensure accounting records are properly maintained and reconciled
Proper filing of all the accounting documents
Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time
Reviewing and accessing financial structure, system and procedures, establishment of cash flow management
Handling internal audit requests
Collaboration with external auditors,
Coordination with tax consultants for corporate tax and transfer pricing matters.
Communication with local bankers to manage bank facilities, including Fixed Deposits and bank guarantees.
Other duties that may arise, including assistance with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
What skills & experience will you need?
Candidate must possess at least Degree in Finance / Accounting or equivalent
Well-versed in IFRS and Local GAAP
At least 5 - 7 years of hands-on experience in handling full sets of accounts experience & sound knowledge in local taxes
Must be proficient in Microsoft office application and possess computerized accounting software knowledge
Good oral and written communication skills in English
Good interpersonal skills and able to work and communicate with all levels of management
Proactive, independent and able to multi-tasks in meeting deadlines
Professionalism: Enthusiastic about the accounting profession; willingness and ability to put in the additional effort during certain periods to meet deadlines (e.g. month-end/year-end close).
Team Player: Step up to assist others and contribute to the overall success of the team.
Detail Oriented: Aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail; ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
Communication (written and oral): Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
