A leading company in the oil and gas industry is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to manage daily accounts operations and ensure compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Accounting or Finance, at least 8 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin. • Minimum Degree in Accounting / Finance and possess a professional qualification such as ACCA / CPA / CIMA, or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of experience in accounting, including areas such as costing, budgeting, forecasting, and taxation, with mandatory experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
• Proficient in SQL Accounting and Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and reconciliation.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin. Proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Experience in people management is an advantage.
• A good team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Highly committed, responsible, and able to meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
• Manage daily accounts operations, including reviewing payment vouchers, journal vouchers, debit notes, credit notes, intercompany confirmations, fixed asset register, and bank reconciliations.
• Handle full set of monthly management accounts and ensure timely submission for monthly and quarterly reports.
• Review daily cash flow positions.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare audit schedules for balance sheet and P&L items and draft financial statements.
• Prepare tax computations, deferred tax provisions, and government tax reporting on a monthly basis.
• Support compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, SST, and statutory filings with authorities (e.g., LHDN, SSM).
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and consultants during audits and reviews.
• Manage or execute other responsibilities as assigned by superiors or designated persons.
• Assist in the preparation of consolidation reports and analysis.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial processes and reporting.
