Reports To: Chief Steward

Job Summary:

The Assistant Chief Steward is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the stewarding department, ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of all operating equipment in Food & Beverage services. This role also involves managing stock levels, maintaining safety standards, and implementing cleaning schedules to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control the flow and supply of China, glassware, and flatware to ensure availability for Food & Beverage operations.
  • Supervise garbage disposal procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of clean and sanitized operating equipment to meet F&B needs.
  • Monitor cleanliness and hygiene standards through regular inspections of all areas, including inaccessible spaces.
  • Supervise stock levels of equipment, cleaning chemicals, and other necessary supplies.
  • Ensure the safety of the team by setting safety standards, conducting training, and clearly communicating those standards.
  • Oversee pest control procedures to maintain a pest-free environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Stewarding or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and safety protocols.
  • Understanding of safety and hygiene standards in a kitchen environment.
