- Proficiently communicate in both English and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively collaborate with team members and understand operational instructions.
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to SHF Group's standards of quality and presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment, strictly adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Contribute to menu planning and development, offering innovative ideas and recipes that align with SHF Group's culinary vision and client preferences.
- Manage and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring consistent execution of culinary tasks.
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, particularly during peak service periods and large-scale events.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of food safety principles and practices, including HACCP, to ensure the health and safety of our customers.
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily preparation and execution of all menu items, ensuring consistent quality and presentation according to SHF Group standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with food safety regulations and company policies, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Contribute to menu planning and development by providing creative input and assisting in recipe testing, ensuring alignment with client preferences and dietary requirements.
- Manage and train junior kitchen staff, delegating tasks effectively and providing guidance to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, track food waste, and assist in ordering supplies to minimize costs and ensure adequate stock levels for daily operations.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery, addressing any special requests or dietary needs of clients and guests promptly and professionally.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols, including temperature monitoring, hygiene practices, and proper handling of equipment, to maintain a safe and healthy kitchen environment.
