Job Title: Assistant Brand Manager - Foods

Location: Malaysia

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a driven, proactive, creative, and resourceful Assistant Brand Manager to help build a purpose-driven brand portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a forward-thinking mindset, responsible for enhancing brand equity, driving sustainable and nutritious product lines, and expanding our flavor extensions.

The Purpose Of Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead Unilever’s growth strategies in Malaysia. The successful candidate will activate brand strategies across consumer channels, leveraging consumer insights and innovative thinking to develop a clear growth vision. You will collaborate with the global marketing team on diverse projects, from national advertising campaigns to creating engaging brand experiences across direct-to-consumer platforms.

Team Structure
  • Reporting to: Marketing Lead
Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in developing the Brand Marketing Plan strategies.
  2. Lead innovation, activation, advertising, and promotional projects, managing the deployment of the Brand Marketing Plan and budget.
  3. Analyze consumer, category, channel, and competitive data to assess brand performance and identify growth opportunities.
  4. Review trends and insights to enhance brand equity and market performance.
  5. Participate in launch management, including planning, customer sell-in, and regulatory compliance.
Key Stakeholders

Internal: Local and global cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Development, Trade Marketing, and local marketing experts in Market Research and Digital.

External: Customers, creative agencies, and media partners.

Travel

No travel is required for this role.

Essential Experience/Skills/Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Recent graduates with relevant experience in brand or product management, preferably in consumer goods.
Desirable Experience/Skills/Knowledge
  • Deep consumer insight and curiosity about future needs.
  • Growth mindset with strong consumer, shopper, and customer focus.
  • Effective communication channel management and digital marketing expertise.
  • Proven project and budget management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end marketing operations, balancing big-picture thinking with attention to detail.
