Job description

OTCM Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. is looking for an Accounts Executive with a minimum relevant experience of four (4) years to join our office located in the Johor Bahru City Centre.

We are an established outsourcing accounting firm providing a broad range of professional services for accounting, tax and corporate secretarial. The position offers excellent growth and potential since we have a large and diversified portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities

  1. Client Accounting Management (SG Clients)
    Preparation of full set of accounts, including AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation and fixed assets schedule for our clients (Using Cloud-based accounting softwares).
    Preparation of GST returns for our clients.
    Preparation of payroll for our clients.
    Preparation of corporate tax computation for our clients.
    Candidate with Xero or QBO practical experience will have an added advantage.
    Candidate able to prepare compilation report in accordance to SFRS/IFRS will have an added advantage.
    Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  2. Team Leadership & Task Delegation
    Overseeing a team of junior accountants and executives, ensuring accurate and timely client deliverables (e.g., monthly closing, GST submissions, audits).
    Assign tasks based on team members’ strengths, workload capacity, and client priorities.
    Conduct regular check-ins to monitor progress, address challenges, and provide guidance.
    Review and approve work performed by junior accountants (e.g. management accounts, GST Reports, reconciliations, journal entries) before submission to clients.
    Train and mentor junior accountants on accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero).
  3. Training & Development
    Identify skill gaps within the team and organize training sessions (e.g., software tutorials, accounting standards and taxation updates).
    Identify courses for the accounting team to enroll and upskill.
    Mentor junior accountants on best practices in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
    Develop and update training manuals/SOPs for recurring tasks to maintain consistency.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy from a recognized institution or equivalent (for example; ACCA).
  • Candidates currently pursuing ACCA level 2 can apply.
  • Candidates with working experience in an accounting firm/ audit firm will have an added advantage.
  • Candidates who are fluent in Mandarin is preferred as the role requires dealing with Mandarin speaking clients.
  • Desire to learn, be proactive, meticulous and is a team player.
  • Good command of English (both written and spoken).
  • Able to work independently and under stress.
