Job Purpose

The Assistant Accounts Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in line withMalaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS). This role oversees monthly management accounts, consolidated financial reporting, and financial analysis. It also includes leading inventory control efforts, supporting annual budget preparation, and monitoring the financial performance of subsidiaries to ensure consistency with Group standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports in accordance with MFRS.
  2. Oversee inventory control, including stock count, variance analysis, and provisioning.
  3. Perform monthly financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  4. Contribute to the annual budgeting process and provide relevant financial insights.
  5. Compile and submit accurate consolidated financial reports to Group management.
  6. Monitor and ensure the financial performance of subsidiaries aligns with Group policies.
  7. Liaise with relevant departments and stakeholders to ensure timely financial submissions.
RequirementsQualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or MIA) is an added advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial capacity.
  • Proficient in handling full sets of accounts, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Familiar with Malaysian tax regulations, SST, and external audit procedures.
Technical & Software Skills
  • Proficient in accounting software such as SQL, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and MFRS.
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate junior team members.
Language Proficiency
  • Must be proficient in Mandarin (for communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders).
Other Requirements
  • Independent and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of managing pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Willing to travel as needed (e.g., branch audits or vendor visits).
