A leading company specializing in Mechanical & Engineering solutions is seeking an Assistant Account Manager to join their finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth financial operations, assisting in financial reporting, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Account Manager, you will work closely with the Finance/Accounts Manager to ensure smooth financial operations across the company. Your responsibilities include:
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accurate and timely GL postings, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
Support monthly closing processes and financial audits.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Monitor and manage invoices, payments, and collections.
Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding billing matters.
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal policies.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Track actual vs budgeted performance and highlight variances.
Provide support in financial analysis and reporting for management decision-making.
Taxation & Compliance
Support the submission of SST, income tax, and other statutory reports.
Ensure adherence to Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and tax regulations.
Team Coordination
Supervise junior accounts staff (if any) and provide guidance.
Collaborate with internal departments, group level and external auditors when required.
Job Requirements
Malaysian citizen with sound knowledge of local accounting practices
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–4 years of working experience in accounting or finance roles
Experience with autonomous monthly closing and preparation of financial reports
Familiarity with Autocount or any ERP software is an added advantage
Strong command of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Up-to-date with Malaysian tax regulations, SST, and statutory contributions
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability
Good communication skills in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia
