Are you a numbers-savvy professional looking to grow in the accounting and finance space? We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Assistant Account Manager to join our finance team and support a broad range of accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong analytical skills, and is passionate about ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Account Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Finance/Accounts Manager to ensure smooth financial operations across the company. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely GL postings, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
  3. Support monthly closing processes and financial audits.
  4. Accounts Payable & Receivable
  5. Monitor and manage invoices, payments, and collections.
  6. Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding billing matters.
  7. Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal policies.
  8. Budgeting & Forecasting
  9. Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
  10. Track actual vs. budgeted performance and highlight variances.
  11. Provide support in financial analysis and reporting for management decision-making.
  12. Taxation & Compliance
  13. Support the submission of SST, income tax, and other statutory reports.
  14. Ensure adherence to Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and tax regulations.
  15. Team Coordination
  16. Supervise junior accounts staff (if any) and provide guidance.
  17. Collaborate with internal departments, group level, and external auditors when required.

Job Requirements

  • Malaysian citizen with sound knowledge of local accounting practices.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Experience with autonomous monthly closing and financial report preparation.
  • Familiarity with Autocount or similar ERP software is advantageous.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations, SST, and statutory contributions.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills in English, Chinese, and Bahasa Malaysia.
