Job summary

Lam Research in Batu Kawan, Malaysia, is hiring an ASRS Equipment Maintenance Technician 3 to maintain and optimize material handling and automation systems including ASRS, AGV, AMR, and MHE. The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and minimal downtime in a high‑tech manufacturing environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, system health checks, spare parts coordination, and contribute to Kaizen/Lean projects while working on shift in our on-site facility.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technician with ownership of automation reliability (ASRS, AGV, AMR, MHE).
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable with safety standards including LOTO and working at height.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for ASRS, AGV, AMR, and MHE to ensure timely recovery and minimal disruption.
• Support preventive maintenance activities and ensure follow-up actions are completed to improve reliability.
• Perform daily system health checks and checklists, identify abnormalities, and escalate risks before they impact operations.
• Assist in spare parts management by identifying critical spares and ensuring parts availability to minimize downtime.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen/Lean) to drive lasting performance gains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and reliable operation of automation systems.

The impact you’ll make

As an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of material handling and automation systems, including ASRS, AGV, AMR, and MHE, that support daily manufacturing and logistics operations. Your work will directly impact system uptime, material flow stability, and overall operational continuity.

By supporting structured maintenance activities, monitoring system health, and driving continuous improvement initiatives, you will help reduce unplanned downtime, improve long‑term equipment reliability, and strengthen automation performance across the site. Your contributions will support safe operations, efficient material movement, and operational excellence.

What you’ll do

• Provide hands‑on technical support and troubleshooting for Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure timely system recovery and minimal operational disruption
• Support scheduledpreventive maintenance (PM) activities, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed effectively and follow‑up actions are closed to improve system reliability
• Perform and maintaindaily system health checks and checklists, identifying abnormalities early and escalating potential risks before they impact operations
• Supportspare parts management by identifying critical spares, monitoring usage, and ensuring parts availability to minimize downtime
• Participate incontinuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and Lean activities, contributing to structured problem‑solving and long‑term performance improvements
• Work closely with others as needed to ensure automation systems operate safely, reliably, and in line with operational requirements

Who we’re looking for

• Hands‑on technician with ownership of automation system reliability (ASRS, AGV, AMR, and MHE)
• Practical problem solver focused on root cause and long‑term solutions
• Strong safety mindset, including LOTO compliance and safe work practices
• Team‑oriented, continuous improvement driven, andcomfortable with Working at Height (WAH) activities
• Willing and able to work on shift schedules as required for operations support

Preferred qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Automation / Mechatronics)
• 3–5 years’ experience withASRS, AGV, AMR, or MHE
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience supporting PM, daily checks, and spare parts
• Exposure to Kaizen / Lean (Yellow Belt or Green Belt is a plus)
• Comfortable with Working at Height (WAH) activities
