Job summary

Techstreet Malaysia is seeking an AS400/IBM System i developer with hands-on experience in RPG/LE/CL. The role requires problem analysis, debugging skills, and the ability to query databases using SQL.

You will work within a Scrum team, using JIRA to track progress and participate in ceremonies, with responsibility for building backend components and assisting documentation and testing. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of practical AS400 development experience and a proactive approach to

Qualifications

• 2–4 years hands-on experience as Developer on AS400/IBM System i.
• Experience debugging and analysing source code.
• Experience running SQL queries to inspect database.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile and using JIRA.

Responsibilities

• AS400 Mainframe developer role building backend system; training on ASSET.
• Build system and perform testing before release.
• Support user testing.
• Prepare deployment documentation and help with documentation templates.
• Make code changes and prepare documentation.
• This is a Scrum-handling project.
• Use JIRA to perform Scrum activity.
• Conduct Scrum ceremonies biweekly and update JIRA as needed.
• Scrum tasks rotate among team members.

Must have 2 -4 years hands-on work experience as Developer with AS400 (new name IBM System i) or RPG/RPG LE/CL from any industry.

Must know how to analyse the problem and try to find issue on source code – debugging skill.

Need to make sure which part of system has problem. Ability to find out and fix the problem.

Hands-on experience in queries from database using SQL- need to look at database to search for record

Responsibilities

• -AS400 Mainframe developer role. Not using cobol/rpg. ( running on AS400) to build the back -end system. training will be provided on how to use ASSET
• -Build system, perform testing before release.
• -Support user testing.
• -Ensure system can be deployed. The candidate will not be the one that do the deploy, but he/she needs to help prepare documentation.
• -Make change on code and prepare documentation using template.
• -This is a scrum-handling project.
• -Use JIRA to perform scrum activity.
• -Conduct scrum ceremony whenever is needed - discuss about progress and every 2 weeks – need to update JIRA.
• The scrum tasks are on rotation basis among team members.
