Aruba Networking Technical Consultant

This role has been designated as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

The primary responsibilities include understanding the Customer’s success criteria for a PoC, working with the account team and Customer to document test cases, staging test topology, troubleshooting obstacles, executing the PoC at HPE or Customer sites, and documenting all test cases for reports. The TC should have expert knowledge of the products tested, test tools, applications, server infrastructure, routing and switching, network management, industry solutions, and client devices.

You will manage materials logistics, prioritize testing activities, and run various parts of the Aruba mobile-first test plan in coordination with Aruba experts and stakeholders. Updating test plans with new features and products is also expected.

Knowledge transfer and training for field teams across multiple regions will be required. You will coordinate with sales leadership to equip the field with testing capabilities and document all test cases for customer reports.

Travel onsite for testing activities and discussions with field teams and customers is expected to position Aruba effectively in competitive situations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Execute complex PoCs to finalize technical evaluations of Aruba products during sales cycles.
  2. Gather technical requirements from customers and account teams.
  3. Define success metrics for PoC evaluations.
  4. Create detailed test plans.
  5. Collaborate with technical experts to vet test plans.
  6. Investigate and optimize solutions to meet or exceed opportunity requirements.
  7. Identify growth paths and scalability options, including in design activities.
  8. Anticipate challenges in test plans.
  9. Differentiate Aruba solutions to create customer preference.
  10. Maximize Aruba’s competitive advantages through solution optimization.
  11. Represent Aruba as a networking subject matter expert to customers.
  12. Support the account team with technical advice, proposals, and presentations.
  13. Mentor and share knowledge with presales peers.
  14. Serve as a technical advisor for networking issues.
  15. Stay current with industry and competitive trends to engage with clients effectively.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of industry experience; Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of networking technology and Aruba products.
  • Experience evaluating networking equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WLAN protocols, switching, routing, and security.
  • Certifications like ACMX, CCIE/CWNP are beneficial.
  • Expertise in wireless technologies, 802.11 standards, RF spectrum, MIMO, and security.
  • Proficiency in networking protocols: VLANs, DHCP, multicast, L2/L3, routing protocols, security protocols, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering technical presentations to varied audiences.
  • Experience in technical documentation, project management, and multitasking.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, at least 30% within the Asia Pacific & Japan region.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Aruba technologies and prior roles in Aruba.
