A creative agency in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a talented Art Director to lead the design process across ATL, BTL, and digital channels. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in art direction, a strong mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, and the ability to manage and mentor a creative team. This role will involve ensuring branding consistency, overseeing project execution, and driving innovative solutions to meet client demands.
Art direction for an ATL, BTL and Digital (social media) environment for our industry, brands websites and social media by using a wide range of media and computer aided design to produce accurate and high-quality work.
Translate marketing objectives into creative strategies, designs, and challenging conceptual ideas for clients that work in a truly integrated way, both online and offline.
Coordinating work between marketing teams, copywriter, clients, and designers are responsible for seeing the idea through the creative process to final sign off.
Ensure branding standards are consistent and maintained across design projects. Work according to Brand guidelines and show understanding and relevance to the target market.
Able to effectively proficient in conceptualizing, visualizing, and delivering design solutions with designers for them to create the end-product, giving clear direction on photography style, typography, print material and finishing of stock.
Provide direction to teammates on how concepts will be delivered, attend pre-production meets with TV crew and casting sessions and attend all photo shoots and location visits, providing direction to photographers and videographers to meet the client’s brief.
Review all art creation. Suggest the best practice to be adopted. Suggest and/or approve best quality job for delivery.
Stay current and up to date with current design trends, techniques, and processes; seek out and recommend new standard methodologies.
Accomplishes art department work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching employees, interviewing candidates, and managing junior designers, including creating job responsibilities.
Meets art department work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements.
Responsible for the quality of execution and quality of thinking and must come up with the best creative solutions, adhere to internal processes, budgets, and timelines for each project.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Organize, motivate, and improve the creative output among teammates. Come up with creative thinking during brainstorming sessions, work as a hands‑on designer, when necessary, closely guiding conceptual development through every step of production.
Gathering data about target audiences and competitors, as well as conducting research about relevant industries as needed. Positive and collaborative. Provide coaching and guidance to team members.
Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent.
A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in the industry with art direction experience, preferably in ATL, BTL and digital knowledge, a variety of design fields, including print, web, and multimedia. They may have experience in a specific industry, such as advertising, marketing, publishing, responsive environments, and UX/UI best practices.
Great in creative cloud i.e., Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Strong aesthetic judgement and strong leadership.
Strong graphic conceptualization skills and creative mind.
Patient mentorship of members of the team.
Able to manage workflow, and at the same time directing the work of others.
Must be able to think fast, particularly during critical or stressful time.
Excellent skills in creating unlimited concepts.
A keen eye for visual details and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Possess in-depth knowledge and experience in brand development, user experience design, digital design, social media platforms and creating brands.
Extreme attention to details plus the ability to communicate clearly and briefly.
The confidence to explain and support your thinking, both internally and externally.
