The Opportunity

The Area General Manager (AGM) is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operational excellence of multiple properties within a designated region. This role oversees a team of General Managers and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure profitability, service quality, and alignment with corporate strategies.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing multi-property operations and engaging with property owners, preferably within international hospitality or hotel chains. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate culturally diverse environments are essential. Proficiency in Mandarin will be useful to support effective communication with the local stakeholders and ownership groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to multiple locations or properties within the assigned area.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction across all locations.
  • Monitor performance metrics (sales, profitability, staffing, KPIs) and implement action plans to meet or exceed targets.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate General Managers and other key team members.
  • Drive revenue growth through local market analysis, marketing initiatives, and customer engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and local laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute business strategies and budgets.
  • Manage cost controls, labor optimization, and resource allocation across locations.
  • Conduct regular site visits and audits to assess operational effectiveness and provide support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of hospitality experience, with multi-property leadership exposure preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated leadership in operations, team management, and service excellence.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the Malaysian hospitality market is an advantage.
