Job Description

We are looking for a smart Architectural Inspector of Works (IoW) for Data Center Construction is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of all architectural aspects of the construction process. This role involves close monitoring of construction activities, ensuring that all architectural elements are executed according to the approved designs, specifications, and relevant standards. The Architectural IoW will work closely with the project team, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the architectural components of the data center are completed to the highest quality within the project’s timeline and budget. This role is critical in ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel involved in the construction project. The Architectural Inspector of Works (IoW) must:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical advice and guidance on architectural matters to the construction team.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues related to architectural design and construction.
  • Review and provide feedback on contractor submissions, including shop drawings, materials, and method statements.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality of architectural finishes, such as flooring, ceilings, walls, partitions, and external facades.
  • Review and approve samples of materials and finishes submitted by contractors.
  • Identify and report any non-conformances or defects in architectural works and ensure timely rectification.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company standards and policies.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with Architectural standards. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular inspection reports, including SOR reports, audit findings, and compliance metrics, to senior management and client bodies.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate emergency drills and ensure readiness for potential emergencies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in architectural supervision, preferably in data center or mission-critical facility projects.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design, construction methods, and materials.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and standards in Malaysia.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on site.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes and safety regulations.
  • Hold excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
