Job summary

AWP Architects invites an experienced Architect to join our Johor office. You will design, plan and oversee architectural projects from concept to completion, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring regulatory compliance.

With a minimum of 5 years local or international project experience, you will lead design development, prepare presentations and submissions, and mentor junior staff while delivering innovative solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture with relevant certifications being an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years local or international project experience.
• Experience across diverse projects and scales preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead general design input and technical management of the projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, manage timelines and regulatory compliance.

About the Role

The candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing architectural projects from preliminary concept stage to completion.

This role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing project timelines, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing innovative designs aligned with project objectives and client expectations. It exposes the Architect to all stages of a project. Minimum work experience of 5 years. Experience in Project Management, including planning, execution, and delivery of architectural projects.

This job opening is exclusively for our Johor Office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the general design, architectural input and technical management of the projects
• Complete the day-to-day executive work including design presentations, authority submissions and project correspondence
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing project timelines, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing innovative designs aligned with project objectives and client expectations
• Responsible to the Project Director/Associates and is to liaise with the Architectural Assistants, Architectural Executives and Technical Staff.
• Directs the Project team in the co-ordination, organisation and preparation of Construction Documents and Drawings
• Attend Project/Site Meetings and Inspection
• Identify and record any product quality problems, to initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels and implement that solution
• Act as the primary point for technical leadership on projects and act as a mentor to younger Architects when needed

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or related field, with relevant professional certifications being an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years local or international project experience
• Previous experience in handling diverse projects across varying scales is a plus.

• Strong skills in Architecture and Architectural Design.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD design software and technology relevant to the architecture industry.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams and clients.
• Strong Team oriented architects for coordination work across project teams internally and externally.
• Knowledge of Local Code Compliance.
• Proficiency in Revit design software and technology relevant to the architecture industry.
• Knowledge of Software Development and Integration as it applies to architectural tools and systems.

Preferred Skills & Other Qualifications

• Relevant professional certifications.
• Experience in handling diverse projects across varying scales.
• Prior experience in mission critical facilities, industrial, laboratory and cleanroom projects
